Neil was born in Cheshire and then moved in a southerly direction to London so he that could attend university. He stayed there for a little longer than anyone expected, not least himself, and finally left with a PhD in the epidemiology of infectious diseases.

A career in teaching, lecturing and writing academic courses followed. Most of it spent in the subjects of human anatomy, physiology and some pathology, with a bit of biology, chemistry, parasitology and human evolution thrown in!

After nearly 30 years in the trade, and the capital, different opportunities presented themselves and Neil was able to change track and write the things he's always wanted to write, rather than what he had to write.

He now lives in Surrey, very close to the North Downs, with Meg, his rescue Dogue de Bordeaux cross Labrador. Check the social media links below as pics of her antics often crop up there.
